Intercargo Services mark a decade of growth
Freight logistics company, Intercargo Services Limited celebrates ten years in business this month. With turnover predicted to reach a record £10million, the Aberdeen-based business is set to mark its anniversary year in style.
A clutch of new contracts totalling £1.5million has recently been won by the firm, leading to the creation of two new operational posts. This brings the company’s number of full time employees to 12.
Commenting, Director Jim Watt said: “Throughout the last ten years we are very fortunate to have developed organically, achieving year-on-year growth without the need to acquire other businesses, looking instead to broaden our service offering and geographical territory. This strategy has worked tremendously well for us, adding to our success as a leading player in the North-east.
“Most recently we have developed our charter business which charters aircraft and ships. Where the consignment is either large or needs to be shipped urgently, this provides a brilliant solution for our clients.
“Our West African Oil Shuttle service has also seen a significant increase in cargo this year, proving to be very popular with Oil & Gas contractors who need to have there freight moved quickly to this increasingly important market. 2008 is set to be a continued year for growth throughout this and every other area of our business.”
Established in 1998 to provide global freight forwarding services, Intercargo has representation in the Middle East, South East Asia, the USA and has most recently established a presence in Brazil and West-Africa. From its premises in Dyce, Intercargo also offers warehouse and dangerous goods packaging facilities.
